“I am very pleased to announce this fresh CLP Shadow Ministry. Every CLP member will become a member of the Shadow Cabinet.

“I have tremendous faith in the capacity of each CLP member to hold the Gunner Government to account. We have a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds which make us an agile and formidable team.

“I have consulted with the members and with Deputy Leader, Gerard Maley, on the portfolio allocations.

“I will take on the roles of Shadow Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Major Projects and Territory Economic Reconstruction, Strategic Defence Relations and Northern Australia and Trade. I want the Chief Minister to know that I personally will be scrutinising everything he says and does.

“I have also taken on the role of Shadow Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services as community safety is the most important role of any government.

“Gerard will take on the roles of Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Multicultural Affairs, Defence Industries, Recreational Fishing, Alcohol Policy and National Resilience.

“Steven Edgington will be Shadow Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, as well as Shadow Minister for Mining and Industry, Aboriginal Affairs, Children, Treaty and Decision Making.

“Joshua Burgoyne, the Opposition Whip, will be Shadow Minister for Territory Families and Urban Housing, Central Australia Economic Reconstruction, Renewables and Energy, Essential Services, Major Events, Youth and Climate Change.

“Marie Clare Boothby will be Shadow Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Small Business, Jobs and Training, Racing, Gaming and Licensing and Women.

“Ian Sloan will be Shadow Minister for Agribusiness and Aquaculture, Local Government,

Arts and Culture, Veterans Affairs and Indigenous Essential Services

“Jo Hersey will be Shadow Minister for Education, Environment, International Education, Sport, Water Security and Seniors.

“Bill Yan will be Shadow Minister for Health, Remote Housing and Town Camps, Public Employment, Corporate and Digital Development, Disabilities and Parks and Rangers.

“We all now begin our work as a strong Opposition to hold the Gunner Government to account and continue to connect with people right across the Territory on the issues that matter to them,” Mrs Finocchiaro said.
