Leader of the Opposition, Lia Finocchiaro, says the CLP will put forward a motion this afternoon calling on the Gunner Labor Government to introduce random drug testing for politicians and staff in Parliament House.

“The Chief Minister has admitted he’s heard widespread rumours of drug use by fifth floor staffers, yet he continues to reject calls for drug testing in Parliament.

“This is hypocrisy at its worst. The Chief Minister is happy to throw his support behind a plan to introduce drug testing for police – so why does he think himself and his staff are immune from the same scrutiny?

“If the Chief Minister has nothing to hide, he should give bi-partisan support for our motion.

“Once again the Opposition is having to take the lead because of the weak leadership of the Gunner Labor Government,” said Ms Finocchiaro.
