Leader of the Opposition, Lia Finocchiaro, says the CLP is honoured to commemorate our
fallen Northern Territory police officers with bipartisan support to light up Parliament House
blue to mark National Police Remembrance Day.

“Every day, the brave men and women of the Territory’s police force pull on the blue uniform
to serve and protect our community.

“Tragically, in the course of that duty some don’t make it home.

“National Police Remembrance Day events are held around the country each year on
September 29 and, in particular, we pay tribute to those officers who have died in the
execution of their duty, or died whilst serving in the NT Police Force.

“We are proud to work with the NT Police Association to light Parliament House blue
tomorrow night and pay our respects to the officers who have sadly made the ultimate
sacrifice, as well as recognising the important and often dangerous work our police undertake
every single day,” said Mrs Finocchiaro.
