For a fourth time, the CLP Opposition will tomorrow fight for an inquiry into the police crisis.

Shadow Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said every time Labor voted against this inquiry, they were turning their back on police.

“The Fyles Labor government has knocked back our calls for an inquiry three times before, all the while we’ve tragically lost three officers this year, attrition remains at 11 per cent, and faith in the executive is at all-time lows,” she said.

Mrs Finocchiaro said it would be debated in the Parliament from 10am on Thursday, and called on Natasha Fyles to support the inquiry, and shine a light on the broken system that is our police force.

“This is so important, and we ask the government to cooperate and come at this with a bipartisan approach rather than throw it out without consideration for a fourth time,” she said.

“They can stand in Parliament and gag our debate but we challenge them to do something different.

“Labor can keep knocking us down, but we will get back up and keep fighting for police.”
