Children of Palmerston continue to wait for additional rubber mats promised by the government for the Palmerston Water Park.

Member for Brennan Marie-Clare Boothby said children have been waiting since the last school holidays for more rubber mats.

“Children are waiting in the hot sun for more than 30 minutes to ride the slides while they wait for one of the five mats to be returned to the top of the stairs,” she said.

Ms Boothby said with no response from the Minister and the Palmerston pool closed for re-development, it limits options for parents to have fun with their kids.

“How hard is it to run a waterside?” she said.

“This Labor government continues to prove it couldn’t run a chook raffle.”

Ms Boothby said with only one Labor caucus member in Greater Palmerston, it was no surprise the area had been left off the to-do list.

“Rubber mats for waterslides might not be high on Eva Lawler or Kate Worden’s priority list, but it’s important to these kids have things to do on weekends and over the school holidays,” she said.

“I hope to see the rubber mats delivered before the Christmas school holidays.”
