The Fyles Labor government snubbed its nose at police again this morning, rejecting an Inquiry into the police crisis.

Leader of the Opposition Lia Finocchiaro moved, for the fifth time, to have an inquiry but Labor cut her off and shut down debate after just 32 seconds.

Mrs Finocchiaro said the Territory was in the middle of a crime and police crisis that required urgent action.

“Police are being targeted by youth in stolen cars hurtling at them like missiles and yet there’s silence from Labor,” she said.

“When Labor shuts us down, what they are really doing is turning their back on police.”
