If there’s one word the Fyles Labor government won’t tolerate being used in parliament it is “crime”.

Labor, once again, shut down debate the minute the word “crime” was used in the Opposition’s censure of Labor’s Attorney-General today.

Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro said the Fyles Labor government can’t admit there is a crime crisis in the Northern Territory and won’t allow anyone to even talk about it.

“Crime is the number one issue affecting Territorians’ lives and it’s the number one issue Territorians want the government to fix,” she said.

“By shutting down any mention of the issue, Labor is sending a clear message to Territorians that their lives don’t matter.

“But every time Labor shuts us down in parliament, they are actually shutting Territorians down.”
