This morning, on behalf of the requests of Territorians, I moved a Motion of No Confidence in the Fyles Government for their failure to do the very basics of Government.
This step is the most severe step a parliament can take and a reflection of the rightful outrage felt across the Territory today in the light of the brutal killing at work of the 20 year old worker, Declan Laverty.
Today, now, more than ever, Natasha Fyles’ failure to address crime and keep Territorians safe is on the mind of Territorians.
Instead of speaking herself, of taking responsibility, Natasha Fyles stood up her Attorney General who did not even acknowledge the loss of a young Territorian whose life was taken at work, on his Government’s watch.
In an act of utter disrespect to every Territorian who has asked us to force this Government into finally taking action, he waged a political, personal attack which did nothing but prove the arrogance of the Labor Government.
He then moved to gag debate. Democracy is dead under Labor.
The Fyles Labor Government think they are shutting down the CLP but what they actually did was turn their back on Territorians, and deprive them of a voice, again.
Chief Minister, Territorians are not celebrating today.
You should be ashamed.
