Today we have seen that yet again the Chief Minister Natasha Fyles has been forced to apologise to our hard working Territory police for her disgraceful comments.

Opposition Leader, Lia Finocchiaro today said “Yesterday Natasha Fyles blamed criminals being out on the streets on our cops, saying it is them who decide who gets bail, completely ignoring that it is her weak laws they are policing.”

“Again, today, the Chief Minister was forced to apologise, ringing NTPA President Nathan Finn in a bid to explain away her comments.”

“This is the second time Natasha Fyles has been caught with egg on her face, following earlier this year when she told our Police to ‘Step Up’.”

“Our Police are under-resourced and under-valued by Natasha Fyles. Along with an apology she should today commit to a full public inquiry into our Police crisis and finally work with the CLP to strengthen bail laws to help them to be able to safely and effectively do their jobs,” said Mrs Finocchiaro.
