Leader of the Opposition, Lia Finocchiaro said that today is just another example of Natasha Fyles needing the Federal Labor Government to come up and tell her how to do her job, this time to help her spin more to Territorians.

“Natasha Fyles has failed to deliver the $250million promised to Alice Springs by her and the Labor Prime Minister back in January.

“Today Alice Springs learned that not a dollar has been spent and we will only see $100million that can be expected this year.

“Natasha Fyles is not fighting for the Territory and we are going backwards.

“Labor Federal Treasurer’s admitted he expects a substantial slowdown of Australia’s economy, which will have a diabolical impact on GST for Territory.

“Under Natasha Fyles, we have an almost $10billion debt and not one major project to show for it, despite a list of 12 given to Labor in 2016, with even less money coming from GST revenue the Territory will fall even further behind.

“The fact that Natasha Fyles and Labor have lost control of our economy, means they cannot make adjustments for impacts like the slowing of the Australian economy.

“Ultimately her mismanagement means she cannot provide the critical cost of living relief desperately needed for families struggling to make ends meet.”

“Our population is going backwards, full time jobs are going backwards and Commsec and Deloitte both show the Territory’s economy is going backwards and the worst performing in the Australia,” Mrs Finocchiaro said.
